The National Quality Standard Award (White Flag)
Shoreline Leisure Greystones have recently been awarded the Gold Standard for outstanding leisure facility by Active Ireland at the annual White Flag Awards for 2021. This follows on from the centre previously winning the country’s Overall Best Leisure Centre Award in 2015, 2016,2018, and 2019. Amazingly by winning the award for a 4th time, the club has become the only club in Ireland to occupy the top spot on four occasions. We are committed to obtaining excellent standards in all areas of our service and operation. Our managers strive to achieve the highest standards with staff, who in turn exhibit passion and ambition in every task they do. This dedication ensures efficient operation in every department. The NQS Award
The National Quality Standard Award (previously known as the White Flag Award) is a national quality standard for leisure and fitness facilities that have been operating for more than 6 months. The award looks at safety, hygiene, customer engagement and human resources. It is based on the international Blue Flag award scheme and emphasis continuous improvement and high standards across 250 criteria.
The National Quality Standard is run by Ireland Active. The White Flag National Standard is a Leisure Centre & Hotel Leisure award encompassing safety, hygiene, maintenance & environment and customer care.
Criteria for awarding a White Flag
Facilities that can apply for the award must meet certain criteria in relation to:
Facility exterior and grounds
Facility interior
Pools
Operations
Environmental management
Education and information
Water quality and treatment.
The standards of the facilities in the areas of safety, hygiene, maintenance, environment and customer service are examined. For more Information on the white Flag please click here
